Councillor Stephen Hart
An honest voice representing the diverse communities within Colac Otway Shire, Stephen Hart is committed to representing the community in a determined and constructive manner. “Councillors are there to represent the community, rather than being salesman for the Council.”
Stephen was a Councillor from 2002 to 2004 and was re-elected in November 2008.
Since being re-elected, Stephen has represented Council on a number of Boards and Committees including the Audit Committee, Barwon Regional Waste Management Group, Corangamite Regional Library Corporation, Lavers Hill Pool Committee and the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV).
Stephen served as Deputy Mayor from December 2009 until he was elected Mayor in December 2011. Since becoming Mayor, Stephen has also been Council’s appointed Board member for Great South Coast Group and for G21.
